Is 'oriental' racist?

Give him a Gaijin Smash for being a plank.

Some people may know what this means, those people will LOL :D

Out of interest, what offensive names are there for British / English / White people?

I guess there's Honkeys, and I seem to remember from somewhere the French call us Roast beef?! Which is just hillarious.
I can't think of many, maybe Gwailo? I'm not entirely sure if it's actually meant to be offensive in itself (I think it just means a white person), just any times I've heard it used it's been derogotary. But then it's been used along with another word like 'dumb'.

EDIT: I saw someone use the term 'darkie' on the forum recently, I remember being quite surprised people still use that.

Saying someone is oriental is generally not offensive, especially if you include "of...descent" etc, however saying someone is AN Oriental, generally is.

That sounds fair enough, the western equivalent is 'occidental' and is generally accepted to mean a culture rather than a person.

Asian and Oriental arent racist.

I work with a chinese Guy, and I call him Jackie Chan =D Which some people would probably think is racist!? But to be honest, I do know him very well, and his surname is Chan. I offered him £1000 to call his son Jackie, but he refused. Good thing too, because I dont have £1000

If he finds it offensive, then simply refrain from using it in front of him. I don't see a problem with the word, but apparently he does. Best to respect that.
