I have only ever OC my CPU in the past and was wondering is it worth OC the RAM in the real world for stuff like video encoding, from my POV i'd only benefit from OC the CPU again everything else would be a bit of a waste of time, am i right or is it worth spending more money to OC the RAM?
Haswell build.

More then likely it would be crucial, never had any issue with them and would like to keep it that way just unsure if it was even worth pushing my luck.

A lot of people have said that optimising the timings is better than the overall clock speed.

Going from 1600 ram to 2133 9 on the 1600 and 10 on 2133 increased minimum fps for me in team fortress 2 by about 10.

TeamGroup Vulcan GOLD 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit
CAS 11-11-11-31 Timings, 1.55-1.65v.

Using this my self timings at 10-11.10-30-1t, a few peeps using the 2400MHz have it running at 10-12-12- 31-1t with 1.75v, setter for one.
