I may just be being dense.

I can't seem to find if old style pay as you go is still a thing.
Pop 10 pounds on a sim and it just stays there until you use it. No monthly nonsense.

But I can't seem to see anything but monthly "packs"

I use a Three PAYG for calls and texts, plus a Three 24GB (over a max of 24 months from activation) prepaid data SIM for web access away from home.

The PAYG used to be 3-2-1 rates (pence per minute call, text, 1MB data), now it's 10-10-5 iirc. Just needs one call or text per six months to keep it active.

I use 1pmobile.com, 1p a minute, 1p a text. However I have taken their £36 for 12 months unlimited calls and texts. It is very good and uses EE up to 5g coverage.

I also get 250mb data per month which I don't use as I have a phone which does not support apps.
