Is PayPal invoice safe?

I’m selling a few things on gumtree and someone has given me an email address and to "invoice" it through PayPal? Is this safe or a con?

I have been bit by gumtree in the past, and it won’t happen again.

When I send an invoice on PayPal to be paid, I ensure the item is posted to the address that PayPal supplies.
Then upload tracking to PayPal.

pretty sure you can request cash via your banking app these days, I've used it with natwest a couple of times and its been pretty straightforward. I am, however, unsure of whether it counts as a bank transfer or not
