Is PC Gaming dead?

I've recently upgraded my system and I'm starting to think it was a big mistake.

For the last 2-3 days I've spent my evenings looking for a decent game to play and it seems like all the good games are only coming out on the Xbox One/PS4.

For example,

Popular PC games:

Call of Duty: Available on the console and to be honest, same crap released in the last few years just with a difference box.

Battlefield: See above.

MMOs: Literally every MMO is the same now.

RPGs: Path of Exile/Diablo, well Diablo is available on the PS3 but these games are so grindy/repetitive, you need to have the iQ of a squirrel to button mash and play them for hours.

MOBAS: probably the only thing PCs still have but the communities are terrible.




I want to be wrong but am I?

What games???...because I haven't seen a single exclusive that I would buy in a Steam sale, let alone buy a new console for!

No, I don't think so, but I do feel we need to remember that we also change as individuals, so it's not just the direction of game development that's the only variable. :)

yep its so dead man, those new consoles will smash pc into peices like OMFG 1080P gaming eat that PC douches.

Reality: No, Pc gaming is on the brink of 4K greatness , whereas the new crop of consoles can only just about do 1080p.

You seem to miss the great games that are only on pc or better on pc , starcraft, civ5, counterstrike to name a few.

Starcraft ,CIV and CS? Dude no offence but all of that has been out for what, 15 years?

No offense but your silly. If your only interested in console games play them on the consoles, my point was that pc gaming is a little more refined than that.

March 12, 2013 - Sc2 HOTS
September 24, 2010 - Civ 5
July 12, 2013 - Civ 5 brave New World
August 21, 2012 - CS Go

So no , not 15 years more like months. Also stuff like the X series, ARMA, DAY Z etc. Theres a wealth of games out there that are PC classics that you have probably never heard of or even played that have recent releases... you only need to do a bit of research or read the threads to see what people are playing asides from BF4 and COD5

yes consoles are cheaper, have way more cheap games which can be traded, theres absolutely no new games coming out on PC or any mind blowing tech coming out in the next year or so, generally consoles are way more fun! Sell your PC now, you wont regret it.
 
PC gets the most exclusives out of any platform. All the brilliant indy games + all the great mmos + PC exclusives + a hell of a lot of the console games. All with better graphical quality then you find on consoles as well as mod support.

But yea, PC gaming is dead
