Is prey worth playing?

Download the demo.

Some people love it, some think it's quite repetitive, but it's got some great graphics, fash engine, and it's got some new gameplay styles, such as 360 degree mavity walls and all that, so makes it a little bit different in that respect, but without the little extras, it's just a basic shootemup.

I liked it a lot, once you get into it you keep wanting to go on and see what happens next :D

Graphics are simply awesome too and it you look great on your system.

I thought it was an excellent game, the graphics are great and some of the levels are superb. I especially like the way the antigravity walkways meant you could walk up the walls and along the ceilings and this allowed for some interesting level design.

The biggest problem is that it is a short game and very easy to complete, but it was a very enjoyable game imho.

Its a great game, was playing through it loved every minute.
Then I played FEAR for half an hour (4th time through it) and couldn't get back into Prey again. It lacks powerfull guns

I wasn't too impressed with it tbh. Loved the demo right at the beginning but I'm not keen on space type games really, if it was set on earth with the same sort of surroundings as the bar at the beginning it would have rocked.

This man speaks the truth. The start of the game is the best bit.
I just wish you didn't spend the whole game on the spaceship

Im finding it quite a refreashing change to most fps. Theres some realy nice ideas and altho the guns do lack power they make up for it with a few cool effects. So it aint got the standard beast shotgun in, can live without it for one game. Its true that the begining is the best bit tho, the scene with dont fear the reaper was on of the best bits of gaming i have played in a while.

I'm currently playing it and it's keeping me from playing Oblivion and PGR3... plus I'm not a fan of FPS so there must be something to it! :)

I'm really enjoying it, I find most FPS games to be the same and I just get bored but Prey has a few suprises up it's sleeve so it's original in places. Makes my head hurt though sometimes!! don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't played it by saying too much but does anyone else find the effects make them feel a bit funny?

Some levels are just madness!! great fun!! :D

On the positive side, well put together, wonderful visuals, good storyline, and just good fun. On the negative side, too short and too easy. I'd not pay anything over £20 for it (I got mine on special for £14.99).

I quite enjoyed the game and my only complaint would be that it was too short. I completed it in just under 6 hours but I played it through again on the higher difficulty so got a little more out of it :)

I played the demo and did not think too much of it so did not bother buying it.

Recently there have been no FPS releases so I gave in and bought a used copy and ended up by enjoying it a lot.

The level design and graphics are the real stars of this game and the combat is similar to Quake 4 but with few more twists. In my opinion this has to be one of the best looking games out there and it runs incredibly well on maxed at 1600x1200 x4AA x8AF. It runs much better than Quake 4 which appears to have smaller textures and less graphically going on.

I am fortunatley a slow gamer so it took me over 16 hours to complete. Overall it is a good game and worth the price.

Have downloaded the demo and there is no option for widescreen res?

Also it does look good but the gun is a bit weedy don't you think?

Is it all the spaceship though ?As this might start to grate like doom 3 did.
