Is PS3 region free for games?

PS3 games = region free
PS2 games (if you have 60gb edition) = region your machine is purchased in
PS1 games = region your machine was purchased in.
DVDs = region your machine was purchased in.
Blu-Ray = region your machine was purchased in.

Also a lot of blu-ray films are region free so play on any machine. I buy most of my games from Canada, £29 for most new games.

This is the definitive site for regionalisation on Blu-ray (has not failed me so far).

Ordered The Invasion on Monday, as it's already out in the States on Bluray. Don't think it's out here for about a month or so. Many titles are region free, meaning you have a bigger selection available, and can get blurays before they're out in the UK... and often, cheaper than the UK too.

Games are nearly always cheaper to import from the States, when they're brand new at least.

Yeah it's great that PS3 games are region free means you can actually play the NCAA football/basketball and Baseball games from the states which never get released here.

Will also mean we won't need to wait 12 months for Square to get their **** into gear to translate FFXIII into German, French, Spanish and god knows what else for the Euro launch I'll just import it :D
