It's patched in that it now works out of the box on the PC, its still suffers from texture pop in and massively fluctuating FPS though.
Unfortunately they have yet to bring out a patch that makes the game stop being a repetitive, shallow "by the numbers" post apocalypse FPS which offers nothing new or interesting to an already stagnant genre.
If you don't own Borderlands already, buy that instead, it's much better.

A tenner, maybe, but you will have to use your own judgement, you'll get a weekend out of it if nothing else.
Let me just that that besides Bioshock 2 I've never been as disappointed and frankly insulted by a games terribleness.

Works great on my card, 60fps maxed all the time. It does have texture pops but hey the game looks great. Worth a tenner all day long

did you buy dn forever now thats not worth a fiver lol . im playing boarderlands now ( for the third time ) . its really good but did you notice how poor the rocket launchers are compared to launchers in other games .

Played DN Forever but didn't buy it (borrowed a console version), yes it was terrible but then I wasn't expecting it to be any good to begin with.
Yeah, the rocket launchers in Borderlands are a bit hit and miss, unless your playing Brick they are very situational.
I have DNF, I think if I was younger I'd enjoy it more.
I remember the humour in duke nukem 3d being good but in this the humour was just forced and felt rubbish. Not sure if its an age thing, and D3D had the same quality humour or if DNF is just not funny when D3D definetely was.
Its also very americanized which is grating to me, I think thats what duke is about though.

I would have to agree with Fenris tbh. I tried it again the other day, as I have a game fairly close to the end but I couldn't even get it to start this time. When I played it on release I had bad texture pop etc but at least it would start and play reasonably smoothly, now I can't move without a ctd.
Even without the technical problems I would say it just isn't a very good game tbh.Shallow and repetitive are the 2 words that instantly spring to mind for me. It is a great shame as I was really looking forward to it.

Aslong as AMD drivers aren't being crap with it that PC will be fine.
The game itself has a lot of fun content, the big problem is they seem to have taken lots of great ideas rammed them all together and then wonder why the whole game isn't as good as the sum of its parts... for instance you will run into one type of enemy/environment and play it to death and then by the time you leave that area you start to get the tools/weapons that would have made that area really fun to play with but theres no real reason to go back and revist it and those tools/weapons aren't that useful for the next area you encounter.
I'd say its definitely worth a tenner but with what they had to play with they could have made a far far better game.

i must admit i am an id fanboy but i had a feeling they were using rage to perfect doom 4 .
i think they have lost their way a bit . i think the quality personel are still there but they are lacking in ideas hl2 and maybe boarderlands and fallout 3 are just so much more than rage . i can remember a long time ago one of the id team offered his ferrari to the winner of a lan contest ( please correct me if im wrong ) i wonder if they could afford to do that now . its a shame really and i hope they can bounce back .
