Hi guys, just a quick one.

Finished a new build yesterday and...

Upon powering on I get an error message 'memory modules were found on no-optimized memory slot'

Any way I carried on with windows 10 installation and after about 10 minutes signal to monitor goes out. No usb power to keyboard and mouse.

Tried again same outcome.

Tried swapping ram slots etc to no avail.

Eventually could not get into bios at all only fans spinning mobo lights on. Still no power to usb slots.

Then today after checking all connections tried again and pc now powers on for a few seconds then switches off then on then off continuously.

But when I remove all ram the pc stays on with the 3 long beeps.

spec

i7-8700k
msi z370 gaming plus
16gb ddr4 ballistic sport 3000 (brand new)
750w evga
h100i corsair

How do I 100% make sure it's the ram which is faulty?

Thanks in advance.

When you say you've swapped the ram slots are you putting them into the correct slots? Either the black sockets only or red sockets only?
