Is Reddit controlled by the powers that be?

I posted a Reddit thread about the British media (sky sports) horrendous bias in the boxing match between Whyte and Russian Povetkin (Whyte - the Brit - got proper sparked out)... It got deleted minutes after posting. Absolutely feels like Reddit is being controlled by western media bias. Thinking?

Not direct control, more an alignment in ideology. Reddit is generally a very progressive place, from the outside looking in at least.

don't know about Chinese but want there a story where the mods on some of the most influential subs were the same people, ergo too much power?

That may indeed have been the case. Though I am not really sure what else they expected? - It's like saying "too many of the OCUK Forums have the same moderators, too much power!!!" Of course multiple different forum sections have the same moderators.

"Too much power" over whom exactly? There are alternatives to reddit.. people can even create their "own" reddit if they wanted to and wield their own "power" as much as they liked.

"too much power". I suppose it depends on your age group or access to other balanced opinions. A new Reddit will not instantly gain followers. It depends on who you are influenced by.

Reddit is like Mos Eisley. A sticky from one subreddit.

Hello users of r/cycling,

We the mod team want to first acknowledge the amazing protests that are being led by black, indigenous, and people of color who are doing far harder work than we will ever have to do moderating a subreddit. Protestors do not deserve the treatment they are getting, peaceful protests do not work when the cops are the ones starting the violence. Black lives matter.

We are a largely white moderating team. What does that mean? That we are all still learning to be anti-racist but hopefully these steps will get us even a tiny bit closer to a world where protests like the ones that are happening will not need to.

My understanding is Whyte dominated the fight before being knocked out by a wonder punch. Maybe your post was deleted because it was nonsense?

I think PEDs dominated that fight. What a disgraceful sport boxing has become.

At least it was a level playing field this time around. Both have served bans for PEDs I think. Either way you're right, the board of control or whoever has jurisdiction seem incredibly toothless when it comes to performance enhancers.

Is this the same rubberduck who thinks people only have a negative opinion of Robert Mugabe because of media bias. Nothing to do with anything he ever did....
