as the 920 can easy get 4GHZ on air and I hear 4.2-4.4 with the 25/600k

Just look on these forums.

There are plenty with 4.5GHz plus overclocks.

It shows the SB CPU's as being clock for clock better too, as at 100MHZ less, it's faster.

Sandy Bridge works out ~15% faster clock-for-clock than Bloomfield (depends on the application, this is an average). However, the unlocked ones overclock higher than Bloomfield so a 4.5 GHz i7-2600K will be ~30% faster than a 4 GHz i7-920/930/950.

However, they're also quite a lot more expensive. There isn't really any direct comparison cost-wise since the i7-950 is usually in between the i5-2500K and i7-2600K in price.

Only thing that puts me off sandy bridge is is SLI and crossfire you cannot do 16x16 only 8x8x

Of course you could wait for "Sandy Bridge E", which should be the equivalent of the last generation's X58 chipset and includes quad channel RAM.
