I was unlucky enough to place my order for sandybridge parts on the day the fault was announced. I cancelled my order and held tight for the B3's.

Now the B3's are shipping, are there likely to be any performance differences with the new SATA controller? Does anyone have any comparisons of B3 vs B2?

I wanted to make sure I'm safe pulling the trigger on my order, once bitten and all that!

yep the problems with the SATA port degredation have been fixed.

Just make sure when your order that mobo has got B3 REVISION in the description/name just to be sure

and if you sit on that fence too long it may just fall over.

Paralysis by analysis etc etc.

Personally I don't have any problems at all with my B2 revision. Maybe I'm lucky but I honestly don't care if it goes belly up because I have a 3 year warranty anyway?

Same here i have a B2 board and im not in any great rush to change it. Ive got a week off work next week so maybe i will get it done then.

I have my 3 internal hard drives on SATA6 ports and only my BDRW is on the SATA2 port.

So are boards shipping now guaranteed to be B3 revisions? From OcUK for example?

no there not guaranteed, there's a mixture of B2's & B3's/Revision 3's floating about at most retailers atm, so read the board description carefully as all B3's are clearly marked in there descriptions.
