Had to use the -clearbeta fix this morning works fine, but not liking having to use the the old UI.
It's like being back in 2009.

I hadn't, took me ages and lots of annoyed restarts before I remembered

Yep, I've just figured out what was wrong

The client updated perfectly but nothing happened after that even when I tried to repeatedly open it. There was a window open in the background asking me for my password but everytime I clicked the icon it just stayed in the background leading me to think it wasn't launching. Silly Windows 7.

my dad had this problem earlier, gotta delete the blob file twice and it will load properly third time lucky!

Was just getting a "Steam is down, try again later" type message, but retried 5-6 times and now it's doing an update.
