is steam up?

Steam is normally up, yes. In its vapourised form water is lighter than air, and the shift in comparative density causes steam to rise above low-level atmospheric gases.

I believe my pc shutdown during the night in the middle of downloading a new game and it screwed the folder up I have deleted Blob and now it is updating platform so hopefully it will be ok.#

Was logged in an hour ago but can't log in now. PC usually logs in automatically but the "Connecting Steam Account" box has been up for about 10 minutes.

Have tried restart and shutdown and it still won't log in.

Edit - works but took over 5 minutes to log in :(

Sometimes I have to go into the task manager and end the process directly when this happens.. usually fixes it.

ON Steam I recently keep getting "there is something wrong please try and log in later" or words to that effect.

Also I keep getting KTD trying to play BF2 on Win7 64bit. It's a Steam/Punbuster issue because I don't get this in single player games or when playing using my DVD version. Steam doesn't answer its web tickets and I am not going to buy any more games from them until they improve the reliability of their systems :(

Right click BF2 in your Steam games list, choose properties, and untick the 'use steam overlay' option within. Punkbuster won't work with the overlay enabled due to Even Balance not whitelisting it, so you will get kicked from servers unless you disable it. Nothing Valve can do about that.

Don't know what your other problem is, but I've never seen that. Possibly a connectivity issue on your end.
