are you planning on getting sky q or any other 4k broadcast service?
do you have a UHD streaming sub or do you use cheaper versions?
have you looked into the prices of 4K content?
basically how much 4k content are you planning on watching would dictate whether it's worth it or not. the whole future proofing argument IMO is stupid because there is no such thing as future proof. You may as well buy a cheaper tv then another when you start using content than 1 expensive set as technology changes so fast.
for example a mate of mine spent £2000 on a 4k tv last year and now he's trying to get rid of it because it doesn't support HDR, not exactly future proofed himself there has he by buying 4K.
I have 4k amazon, netflix and nvidia shield
But i think your right. I quite like the sony 800quid which i could nearly by two for the price of the samsung.
That exact TV is faulty. I had 2 of them and it won't do RGB Full in 4k mode. I tried everything exhaustively on the nvidia forums - It just flickers. It turns out the USA version is fine but the Europe version is dodgy. It's down to that one connect box. I got a sony instead the 8599 hdr one - not as bright for sure but way less artificial looking. Also 5" bigger for the same price.
