I've been doing some thinking and while the 780 isn't worth it. So will the 7990 be the power house after the new AMD series release? I thought I heard Gibbo say that the 7990 will still be the best card?

Was thinking of get one? still thinking about it. I want one good card SLI is just crazy insane fast. Too fast for what I'm doing. I wonder if this card would fit in my Corsair Air 540?

Retro im not even sure why you're changing from your current cards? I don't see the point. 2gb will fine for a long time, right? :p

So what's the need to change?

I'd hang tight and see what AMD's new card is like then go from there.

That said i can understand the interest in the 7990. £470 is bonkers for the fastest card around. You need to be aware it will likely run much hotter than your current cards though.

:p

I just want one single fast card. 7990 seems to be that card. Gibbo said the 7990 will still be the fastest card even after AMD release their new series.

When the new cards come out we shall increase 7990's too £600-£700 region, make of that what you will. ;)

I better act fast then. I need a week or 2 to decide?

I have only 100 left and now that board partners have new info from AMD they won't sell them again so cheap to me, so if they start moving quick you might only have a week.

Cheers for that Gibbo:D

Surely you should have thought about this a bit more carefully before splashing out nigh on 800 quid for a couple of 770s

Been through 10 gpu's this year. looking at 11 right now:D

This the 7990 may be single card but remember it's still a dual chip so still uses crossfire and doesn't have built in frame pacing like a 690. You'll probably see temps rise across all components in your system as well with 80-90c in games.

Not in my case. The Corsair AIR 540 is amazing for cooling. Not worried at all about temps. My lightnings never go over 65c

I was going to sell my 770's,but I've had had a rethink. My 770's while too powerful for my needs do everything I want them to do. I would be crazy to sell them. I did have a buyer for my 770's yesterday, but he backed out. I felt relieved he backed out. Why would I sell the best GPU's I've ever owned. I must have had a crazy moment yesterday to even think about selling them. Also the AMD news seems a bit disappointing. So there's no need to sell now.

With all due respect Retro i think it will take more than a slight overclock from a 770 to match a 780. I think it was owennades who posted some 780vs7970ghz benchmarks as he owns both cards.

At 1250 core a 7970 was about as fast, or very slightly faster than a stock 780 with boost oc. I can't remember what memory overclock he was running on the 7970, but it wasn't ridiculously high. Maybe 1600-1700.

I'd imagine a 770 would need about 1350 core with a decent memory overclock to get near that due to keplers slower core (thus higher clocks) to match the (slower clocked) tahiti core.

Maybe, but it comes very close to a 780.

780 and titan both aren't worth the asking. If the 780 was £400 it might be worth it.
