Is the Altec Lansing MX5021 2.1 Speaker the biz ?

Moving back home after this summer and without boring you with the details i need some new speakers. The main use of the sound coming from the PC will be DVDs first, Mp3 second and games 3rd. I've read that Altec Lansing MX5021 gets good feedback from people on here but it is £100 and £50 more than i like to spent. Are they really worth it?

How are they compared to the following?

JBL Creature II 2.1
Creative I-Trigue 2.1 3400 Speakers

The Altec Lansing ones do look good and sound promising but at a price. For the £50, the creative and jbl ones are not as good as the Philips MMS430. I read some reviews on each and the philips was consistently better.

the Altec Lansing MX5021 do look like a great set of speakers, i was torn between these and the Aegos 2 a while ago.

I plumped for the Aegos in the end after lots of positive reviews and more importantly views of the people who had bought them.

I have never listened to the Altec ones but I cant tell you how great the Aegos sound for the money. they knock spots off the Creative 2.1 THX set that they replaced, and the Creative ones cost me about a tenner more

They really do office fantastic sound for the £££ and they look smart to.
