Is the Antec 900 worth getting

It's excellent for Cooling, but as for cable management and Space it's terrible.

I got rid of mine, 8800 and 3 HD's were way to cluttered.

I started a similar thread a while ago and the responses were that the 300 is better value for money. Many people also recommended a lian li or a cm690 over the 900

Theres stacks of room inside, but you need to spend time tidying the cables up, or no theres no room. For me the case is a perfect size, not too big and not too small, plus If a graphics card is too long to fit, all you need todo is take out the top hdd cage and cut a lump out of the side of the hdd cage.. So basically any graphics card will fit, just have your hdds in the lower hdd cage. I love my 900:eek:

Yeah, seems the 900 is bout Marmite, but I absolutely love mine. More than enough space for everything, Just needs a little cable tidy and you're away. :)

Antec cases are good, if you don't like the LED type design go for a Lian-Li PC-7 (comes with a mini-toolset for putting the mobo screws in too, which is pleasant)

in two words "dust trap !!"

I don't think you can get a better case for £ 55 ex VAT the CM690 is £ 48.99 ex VAT at my supplier and I think the 900 is worth the extra for the side window and extra fan + its probably built better becuase the CM690 is a cheapish case in the USA about the same price as the 300 hence its similar styling. I wouldn't buy the CM690 for £ 6 less then the 900, once you add a decent fan its the same price and then the 900 wins on styling + it has a nice 200mm fan.

Anything in the price range thats better, whats the difference between the 900 and the 300 is it better.

Thanks.

I dunno if you want an exact answer but here we go:

The 300 is a bit smaller.
The 300 has only two fans (one top one back) but space for two at the front if you buy them).
The 300 doesn't have the HDD caddy design.
It doesn't come with a kit to mount a floppy/card reader.
It doesn't have a side window.
It doesn't have a firewire port on the front.
It does have a neat area to stow unwanted cables easily.

For the price the 300 is a great deal. The 900 is a bit of a dust trap, but just invest in some filters.

I own a 900, and also got a semi cloned version, which, ok isnt as nice to look at, if you like the 900 look, but vents air as well, and does not collect dust. Cleaning the 900 also is a pain, and i dont like the cage design one bit. I also prefer power supllies at the top, mainly because i notice them less there. I guess everyone is different at the end of the day, but i certainly got bored of any fans that emmit light. I dont like a "disco" look on any pc nowadays.
