Is the Corsair HX520 enough to power a GTX970?

It's a quality Seasonic built unit with 480w on the 12v rails so should be fine. How old is it though as components inside psu's degrade over time and these were replaced quite a while back now?

Yes.

Was running that very same power supply with an MSI 970 last week. This was with a 3770k at 4.2, 32GB RAM, 2 x SSD, and one hard drive. All ran fine.
