Is the E8500 worth the extra 100 quid?

Probably not, you could get similar results with the E8400 or even E8200 with w/c.

I personally don't see the extra £100 worth a small peformance boost. You're better off going with the E8400

depending how good your WC kit, your RAM and your MB is, you could just get the e8200 and oc it as far as possible.

If you have the right board you may be able to get an e8200 to 4GHz at a push. Id recommends the E8400 over both the 82 and 85 though.

If you want to save a decent amount of cash you could also check out the E7200 which is much cheaper and can hit 3.8GHz with ease due to it nice high multi. Can be had for as little as £80~!!

No way is the e8500 worth £100 more then the e8400.....(£100 for an extra .5 multi )


(When i bought my e8500 there was only about £30 or £40 difference...)
