Is the evga 550w supernova GS modular 80 gold good?

just on gum looking at parts and just seen this pop up, it's a brand new sealed unit, was a replacement for a faulty unit but ended up buying a more powerful version before this arrived(picture shows it even has the polypropylene on) and they asking £40 for it and local.

Face of the box doesn't say modular, just the description they put, but is this actually a really good power supply? Not sure which evga units to avoid? I know it's got to be better and investment than my cx600, but at double the cost I don't want another gamble lol.

The GS is a Seasonic built unit and is decent and quite compact at 150mm long. It's not as good as the Superflower built units and only gets a 5 year warranty but it is a good psu. You can read a review over at Jonnyguru.

The EVGA units to avoid are the bronze rated ones, all of which are built by HEC.

Okay thanks for that, I quickly read a review, just I have already arranged to buy it, so wanted to be actually sure, wish they advertised it days ago when the cx600 came about save more money spending, but it just shows someone better always around the corner.

Fully modular too from looking it up so just the type I wanted from couple years ago lol
