Is the gtx 560ti a power hungry gpu?

So these last few days ive purchased 3 old(ish) cards one of which is a Asus DirectCU ii 560ti 1gb and while i havent tested it yet, its for my fm2 system with the athlon 860k which i have the corsair 450w connected to, but a quick partpicker list shows an estimate of 394w where as the other old gpu i picked up is a hd 7870 2gb which partpicker estimates around 359w.

Is the 560ti actually 170w?.

gamdias argb tower cooler, 2 x 4gb 1600mhz ram and a patriot 512gb 2.5 ssd is the rest of the system.

In TPU's review (I found with google) of a 560 Ti, it had an average of 128 (gaming) and 202 (max).

The Radeon in their review was 144 (max) and 103 (gaming).

I don't know if the Asus model is factory overclocked, which would push the numbers up.

I look on TPU, but sometimes i question their info. example being that 1070ti i had, 450w on TPU, but 500w on zotacs website.

On TPU i only look at the date of release and power use. sometimes the performance chart. I do use their app, but its best to ask and this forum seems to be a little less conflicting than google searches.

Ive had 600 series DirectCu ii cards before and i believe those werent overclocked versions. Guess ill just have to wing it and hope it works.

As for TPU, i only really look at it if i find conflicting information when i google what im after. its like partpicker being the more apparent of accuracy for system power estimates, but still have to take some of it with a pinch of salt especially when you cant pick the exact version of a part in some cases.

So in the end i just took the gamble and put it to the test and like the HD 7870 i got mixed experience. Both kept giving blue screens before and after driver installation however it took about 3 attempts to get the nvidia drivers installed as it kept freezing at which point it did stop causing issues and so both were fine, but i didnt run them with any games, so long enough to install some software. HWMonitor and GPU-Z doesnt show a power reading for the 560 and gave up on the system before setting up afterburner assuming it would show any different.


My conclusion from this is either the power supply isnt up to par as its the cv450 which you all have said isnt great or i had my issues because i connected an ssd with windows 10 i installed via my ryzen builds. And so, 500-600w psu and new ssd for fresh install will be in order then.
