Is the i7-5960X worth it at £600?

Hi there,

A friend of mine is selling off his i7-5960X for a little under £600 - Would it be worth spending the extra £300-ish over the i7-5820k for the 2 cores/4 threads/12 PCI-E lanes?

I mainly game, and plan to make some sort of videos every so often so the cores/threads are not too important to me, however having that much processing power seems like it'd be very nice for the future.

I plan to have SLI 980Tis sometime later in the year when the prices have settled a little.
