Is the Intel graphics used at all if you have dedicated GFX card?

On the Intel chips there is an integrated graphics solution (like a 630 for example).

If you have a dedicated card is the intel onboard graphic chip completely obsolete i.e. is it not used at all?

Is it possible to use both for editing/rendering?

Many thanks in advance!

That’s not true. You can enable both and use both in certain applications. Adobe Premiere in particular can greatly benefit from combining descreet GPU and integrated GPU for rendering/encoding.
