Is the Logitech MX 1100 (Cordless) acceptable for gaming?

Hi, I am considering buying this mouse. I don't play FPSs that often, but when I do, I do like to get kills. Do you think wireless technology has come a way enough that I would hardly notice a difference?

it will be fine

There a far bigger issues when playig FPS than worring about mouse lag.....there is so many variables its one of the smaller ones

Im sure folk will post saying wire is better.....and there right it is but the difference is very small. I use a MX700 which i have had for years and its completely fine

I've been using wireless mice for gaming for about four years; first a Logitech MX1000 and now a Bluetooth MX Revolution, never had any problems in games related to mouse lag or interference.

You will be fine with it. Been using a G7 (wireless) for light FPS gaming and it's grand.

Ordered one of these (MX 1100) yesterday and have no doubts it will do the business too. :)

dont know, i bought logitech's first cordless laser mouse for fps, while it was ok when nothing much as happening on the screen, as soon as there was some close up action there was noticeable lag, sold the mouse the day after i bought it.

game was sof2 and all this happened years ago so maybe tech has improved and the problem i had is gone

In the L4D thread I posted a video of Hunter walljumping - this would not be possible on a standard wireless mouse if there was lag because in order to pull f those kinds of jumps you need to be turning the mouse just at the right time and in space of a very short amount of time.

how does this one differ from the MX rev?

except for no thumb wheel?

Exactly the same when in standard resolution mode (I had the MX1100 and have the Rev).

When in high res mode the cursor feels like mouse acceleration is enabled in windows (it's much faster) so good for snap-action FPS gamers but no good for anything else as it's too fast for precise working.

Batteries last 9 months+ on the MX1100 and comes with a micro receiver same as MXRev.

High end Cordless mice from Logitech are always good.

Personally I use a Logitech G7 which I find fine for the FPS games that I play, but I have noticed that Razer are bringing out a hybrid Wired/Wireless mouse in the next month or so (Razer Mamba) which looks interesting!

Ive used the MX1000 for years now for gaming and desktop use, never had any issues.
Never really noticed any input lag that people speak of.

Im now using a MX Revo mainly and except for the lack of weight Im quite happy with it now, it really could have done with weights imho. The MX1000 was heavy and bulky but seemed just right for me, the mx revo is slightly smaller and about 20 grams lighter I think but its still acceptable just took a little getting used to.

The MX1100 is one I've not tried purely because it has no built in battery and thus would be even lighter than the Mx Revo.

It weighs near enough the same as the Revolution I found

The materials used in the 1100 feel cheaper than the Rev and 1000 though, probably a reason why it weighs same as the Rev once batteries are installed.
