I've been looking at getting the Orange Box for a while.

I absolutely loved Half Life 2, I got it on release and played it through to the end in very few sittings. One of the very few games in the last few years that I've literally not stopped playing until I've finished it.

I've not played EP1 so it's a bonus that it's in there.

But is there enough new content in EP1 & EP2 to warrant the purchase?

There is always Portal I suppose, and from what I've heard (how can you avoid it!?) this game is worth the price tag alone? :)

Whats the gametime like on EP1, EP2 and Portal. Are they reasonably long?

Its worth the price just for TF2, its a hell of a lot of fun online. Plus if you loved HL2 then you'll love episodes 1 and 2. Ontop of that Portal is an excellent game, its only a couple of hours long, just short and sweet.
If you take your time and don't rush the episodes they are 4 hours or so each. Its well worth the price!!

For me, Portal was the only game on there I played, so it wasn't worth it. I should have just got Portal from Steam for less than half the price. However, I don't enjoy multiplayer FPS games and never got into HL2, so it may well be worth it for you.

i'd say total playing time for the 3 is about 17-20 hours

awesome games though, and TF2's playability is infinity :p

Indeed. If you love HL2 then getting EP1 and EP2 is a no-brainer since it's a continuation of the same story, plus Portal is a real gem. OB is available for about £17 now.

You're in for an absolute treat.

EP1/EP2/Portal/TF2 are all great.

Surprised you even need to ask.

Well I'm not into online FPS that much, although I'm sure I'll give TF2 a go :)

I'd just heard that EP1 and EP2 were rather short, so was again wondering whether they're worth it.

But I suppose 8-10 odd hours worth of gaming from EP1+EP2 would be worth it, plus Portal as well.

Welll all I can say is portal is short too, but you must have experienced it.
And with a bit of healthy humor ( unlike Ibot's), you'll love the game like most people.

Play the sp games, then move on to TF2.

Hard to get a better for deal in terms of value for money.

Episode 1 will take about 4 hours to complete, same for Episode 2 and same for Portal. Total = 12 hours of gameplay (arguably more than most games today)

On top of that there is TF2, which is multiplayer and you can spend countless hours on it if you like online FPS. This one is certainly worth a look since it is original both graphically and in terms of gameplay.

Ep1 and Ep2 are allright but nothing to write home about; however Portal and TF2 are aces.

You prob don't need any more convincing, but for Portal alone it's worth the asking price. I've actually never played TF2. I'm not that keen on multiplayer games I guess!
