I was thinking of getting that red PSP the 3000. I don't think it looks girlie I thinks it's more like sports car red. I like the look of PSU portable. I notice not one super market sells PSP hardware or games anymore is the PSP doing so badly that these Super markets don't want them?

lolwut?

The new blue PSP3000 looks better.

I keep my eye on psp games, but everytime I look at them I cant be arsed buying them, I've owned 9 psp games out of the time I've had it since release and I've only ever completed one.

I just dont like the system, isn't nearly as fun as the DS.

however I think things are picking up with Rockband, GTP, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear solid peacewalker, Little big planet, Motorstorm etc.

Imo the psp was crap but I'm keeping my eyes peeled atm as their is some promosing games coming.

Tbh the PSP is alright, but when it first came out I followed the hype and bought one, wasn't really my thing, I always liked the game boy back in the day when I was a kid for pokemon etc, quality game. Wouldn't play it for anything else.

The PSP didn't hold anything to me though, the games were average, but I didn't really need it, Didn't do any traveling so why not just have a console in my house. Think the DS soared because of the selection of games and the cost effective buy.

Hardware wise? Its doing better than any other non nintendo handheld has done and approx 50 million sales is pretty good just not DS good. Software was always the problem for the PSP, but looking at the next 12 months of PSP gaming i think its probably got the strongest line up its ever had. Piracy is another thing that has hampered the PSP sucess hopefully with the new 3000 and go this will deminish. As for it not being in supermarkets, im sure i have seen it for sale in every supermarket ive been in although they were the big four supermarkets.

PSP games don't chart any more so yes it is doing that badly, tho all popular on line sites still sell psp games

psp is ok. the control layout is shockingly bad though, why sony cant get the basics right i'll never know. playing it for any length of time will hurt your hands.

there are some good games on it though, and i understand there are a few epic ones on the way. its been out a long time now though so its about time. they are great for long journeys though. i use mine mainly for football manager and fifa.

Agree about the control layout, very poor. Imo the games catalogue is just rubbish! Its looking up now but was incredibly poor on launch. I dont think the DS has that many good games either. UMD has to take a lot of the blame though

I like my psp - got a few games on it that I can kill 10 minutes on quite happily (short enough time to avoid finger pain)
These games happily occupy me whilst say games are installing on my pc, im on the bus/train and similar.
I think it is a great little console and it appeals to me far more than the DS (or the Wii for that matter) does. It's not quite as magic as Gameboy + Pokemon was, but I didn't expect it to be.

Can't wait for MGS and GT5 :D

count yourself lucky my local supermarket has dropped 360 and PS3 games. Now all they sell is DS and Wii games :(

Can you watch films (divx etc) on the PSP?

I just bought one off here for Final Fantasy VII, but it would be nice if I could pop films on there etc

You can put films on the memory stick, but as far as I know they have to be converted first.

I've never bothered to use it to watch films on though.

PS. I'm sending it tomorrow, so make sure you are in for delivery on Thursday :p

Only reason I don't own a PSP is down to it's controls. I really dislike the d-pad on it and the placement of the analogue nub.

I ripped a load of DVDs into files for the PSP for my flight to America earlier in the year.

I managed to fit a couple of films plus a 7x1 hour TV series onto a few 4GB cards.

Quality was far better than the in flight entertainment units, and it was perfectly watchable. :)

Not worth it if you have the option of watching something on the TV, but if you had a half hour train/bus journey everyday and fancied watching an episode of Family Guy per trip or something, it would be perfect.

I like my PSP, but I haven't really hammered any one particular game. There's some decent stuff for it, but nothing stands out as THE game that you MUST own. Plus, it cripples my hands after about half an hour of play. N+ is probably my most played game now I think about it. Along with OutRun and Virtua Tennis. I can't get on with the likes of God of War, etc. It's amazing that they've managed to cram it onto the PSP, but I just can't enjoy playing that sort of game in such a crippled way. My DS gets more play time because there are more puzzly games to play. Probably just me.
