Is the PSU possibly causing black screen?

I bought the OcUK Gaming Calcite pre-built pc (I know I should build my own but I cannot be bothered anymore so prefer to buy pre-built now). It has an RTX 5070Ti and i7 14700KF which i now know has some issues but haven't had any myself. Also, the PSU is an Aero Cool Integrator 850w which I had looked into to find out they're not that great but I would replace at some point.

That point may be now...

The last couple of days I've had the pc go full fans along with the monitor going black and connection is lost. I can still hear the game or video going though but the screen never comes back on and I have to hard reset. My initial thoughts are the PSU is not giving enough power to the graphics card. I have no errors etc when my pc comes back on and it can happen at any point, not just playing games.

I've monitored temps and they are all good so not overheating. What do you think, the psu is not good enough or on its way out? I'm not using pc until I replace psu as a starting point but just would like some advice if any would be kind enough to offer any.

Many thanks

How long have you had it?

I would RMA it and get them to sort it out in case it is not the PSU at fault. You could ask them to swap the PSU to something better while they have it even if the fault lies elsewhere.

4 months. I am trying to not have to send it back as I can imagine that'll be a complete ball ache...

If I did send it back and i don't have the packaging they used inside the case, what could I use? Do you know OcUK's process for returning?

Could be, but typically this problem only occurs when gaming (if PSU isn't supplying enough power).

Is there anything in the event viewer around those times?

Display and power cables look fine? Not falling out the back/loose?

Are Windows driver updates disabled?

Did Nvidia recently update the driver of your graphics card?

Did you change any settings or other config related stuff?

It does say to keep the outer box in case you need to RMA, but surely they can't expect you to keep it for 3 years as a lot of people will not have room to store it.

You could ask if they would supply packaging when they pick it up. (if you RMA it)

What Warranty Does My System Come With?

All of our systems come with our standard warranty. This is a full three-year parts and labour warranty. Be sure to keep the box your PC comes with in the event of a fault. We will arrange collection and return at no cost to you. We aim to have your system repaired, tested, and returned in 5-7 working days upon receipt. This can take longer during busy periods. Should a faulty part no longer be in stock or available, we will contact you. Please note, this warranty is not available outside of the UK. If you wish to send your system in for repair and live outside the UK Mainland, you will be responsible for returning it to Overclockers UK.
