Hi guys,

Just dumped my Medusas in the bin as I was getting annoyed with them and looking to upgrade anyway.

I was wondering if the actual amp that came with it could be useful for anything?

TIA

Well I do have a second related question regards this. I thought I could use the medusa amp as some kind of normal hi-fi amp :p..

I am actually looking for some new headphones (not headset as Ive picked up one of those lapel mics to do the job) but I want to get the best I can get without getting an amp.

Im thinking HD595s - anything better would need an amp AFAIK...

OK Ill throw them in the bin :). Need to order some 595s then - whats the best price for them? £90 is the cheapest Ive found from Jersey...

Also are open headphone better than closed ones?

More worried about sound leakage than anything - will pick some up in the next couple of weeks...

P.S. Wierd question - Could you have them on and actually lie on a pillow? I like listening to music/TV before going to sleep and regularly crawl into bed and listen to a few tracks...

Just been enjoying some old school Beck and I love these headphones - the sound just feels bigger/fuller like if its not being squeezed into a little space/box and thrown at you. The sound also seems quite warm but no way bassy or over the top - just like if someones put cinnamon over it (dno if youll get that). Definitely not clinical IMO..

In honesty I cant tell if they are worth ~£90 as Ive got nothing to compare them with (other than earphones :p) but Im really glad I got them since I think Ill grow into them (do these get better with age or something?!?) - dont care if they are open as theres not that much sound leakage. Ive spent a LOAD of money on my recent acquisitions and this is one of the better picks...

Ive got it connected to the headphone socket of a set of Z5500s whom are connected to my PC via analogue - is that ok? Need to get my Prelude in ASAP though! Dont think Ill ever AMP them though - perhaps I need to get used to this sound quality to be standard and take it from there :)

Thanks a lot guys - owe you one...
