Is the switch from DVI to VGA worth it.

I have just got a blu ray drive to go in my media pc. i have a 3650 HD using VGA to my 37" hanspree tv(720p). is it worth getting a DVI to hdmi adaptor and giving it a go. p.s. so far disappointed with bluray.

Only if your tv can do 1080p and the contrast ratio is decent!

I use a dvi to HDMI adaptor on my 22" LG TV Monitor and I think the picture is better.

Just get a DVI-HDMI cable (you can get these for about £5) and try it.
Using one myself (ATI 3450 - 32" HDTV) and bluray is fine.
Never used VGA so can't compare picture quality.

Why are you dissapointed with bluray?
Could be software causing problems.

I Don't think there is any difference between 'dvi to HDMI', there is a difference between VGA and HDMI but you'd be hard pushed to see it with the human eye (i couldn't tell on a 46" 1080p screen).

Blu-ray won't be able to show its full potential with that GPU I don't think. But DVI is much not much an improvement when just on the desktop, but when you you are watching films/games there is.

i use the hdmi converter on one of my DVI outputs as its easier to find a spare longish HDMI cable at my home than DVI, and i think there easier to use. i cant tell the difference between HDMI and DVI but i think theres something there with a VGA (older) computer.

ive got a good old 8800gtx, i havent seen any signs of strain under a 1080p dual screen movie on one side and monitoring on the other. i recon the most blue ray reader would make more of a diffrence, which i consider to be fractional (unless its a complete pile of trash)
