is the time of raising the clock speed over?

My fellow nerd told me that " they say the time of clock speed is over " noow all of us want to see a 10ghz pc! otherwise we wouldnt be registered to this site!!

does anybody know what the processor manufacturers are doing?? will we see a chip like that this decade? Is it just me that wants to see faster pcs with faster clocks or what?

does anyone believe sparc or via will ever make processors to rival intel or amd any time soon. maybe make a FAST chip ?

and also. whats happening with intel/apple are those intel duo chips x86 that are going into the macs????

yeh. but the thing is, intel are making ever soo smalll chips which are like 65nm insanely small. doesnt that mean less heat??

if you can push a standard pentium 4 to 5ghz on nitrogen cooling. which is about 130nm. im sure oneday somebody will be able to do it.

1 thing i dnt understand about multicore. doesnt it mean its going to be absolutly cooking inbetween the 2 or more cores???? how do they solve that heat problem.
