Hey Guys,

This is something that I've been pondering for a while now. I have an Xbox 360 and a gaming PC and although I have a hefty collection of games between them, I never finish them. I guess I'm getting bored with western games.
The Dreamcast is my favorite console ever, mainly due the innovative and quirky games on there. I see the Wii a kind of modern day Dreamcast. Sure the visuals aren't up there with current gen consoles and more so the PC but the games are fun.

So the question is, if I loved the Dreamcast will I love the Wii?

Depends how you feel about Motion Controls and more family/children friendly orientated games. Personally I despise the machine because I hate Motion Controls with a passion and am strictly a hardcore gamer so it's not for me.

Everyone is different though and if you don't mind the idea of Motion Controls I would suggest looking at the games avaliable and see if there's anything that interests you. If there's only one or two titles I would say no, however if you find there's more than say five then go for it.

Motion controls dont really bother me, I do have Kintect aswell. Some of the games I've looked at don't even need the motion controls such as Goldeneye and Sonic colours.

Then I would say buy one mate. It sounds like you would enjoy it and they're pretty cheap nowadays. Get a Component cable for the best picture quality.

I can get the Red Mario Anniversary edition for £179.99. I'd also pick up Sonic Colours, Kirbys Epic Yarn and Resident Evil Zero.

You should get resi 4 wii edition too, very good fun.
Also house of the dead overkill is a great take on grindhouse cinema. Mario galaxy and new super mario bros are definite buys too. Some good distractions to be found on the virtual console marketplace too.
I really like the Wii, it's great for a change of pace from PS3 games.

If you are not finishing games on your 360 and PC, you certainly wont be finishing any Wii games, as the novelty wears off extremely quickly.

Just send me the £150 odd quid and save yourself a space under the TV.

The thing with the Wii is, yes it has motion controls, but it's nothing like Move or Kinect.
Take the Wii+ titles out of the equation for the moment.

The normal Wii games aren't as much motion as you would think. Yes sometimes it is used for aiming but normally a movement of the Wii-mote is to replace a button. Instead of having to push (example) button "Y", you just move the controller to the left a bit. It's kind of hard to explain but I think fellow Wii owners will agree with me when I say that, The Wii is kind of half way between PS3/360 and Move/Kinect.

But the Dreamcast was up there with the other consoles released at the time for graphics, so not really like the Wii is it. :p

Shenmue still looks better than 90% of PS2 games. :)

I don't think the graphics are too shocking on the Wii, the art in some of the Wii games more than makes up for it.

Everyone I know that owned a wii barely uses it or has already sold it on. Very few good games with a lot of replay value.

As I mentioned in another post I just bought one. I think you've got to take the cheap price factor into it. While theres only a handful of games I want on the Wii those games are pretty much unique. Theres some good deals going on the auction site at the moment. I managed to get a Wii, Two Remotes, Mario Galaxy, Zelda, Smash Brothers, Mario Kart and 4 wheels, Goldeneye and a gold classic controller for 164 quid. In summary if you loved the classic N64/Gamecube games theres no reason not to get one on the cheap to complement the PS3 and 360. :)
