Is there a 24" Widescreen that can handle 1080 over DVI?
I know the Dell 2407 can't....does anyone know if they plan to change this?

Thanks

Probably once the A03s are gone, the new stock will be A04 possibly, quite a bit of info here http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1146236 post no.10 is interesting as it shows 1:1 mapping at 1920x1080 over vga from an xbox 360

Thats brilliant - thanks for the link.......finally - I'm getting a 2407 :)

I know it's speculation but when do you reckon the A04 panel will be guaranteed with new purchases of the 2407 - can OCUK guarentee i'd get a 2407 if I ordered one?

Also, does this use the same panel as the A03?
Does it still suffer from the banding problems?

Thank you again for the advice and help -oohhhhh, i'm all excited now, the 1080 over DVI and the 1:1 pixel mapping were the only things holding me back :)

Are we sure the 2407 A04 definitely does 1080p through DVI?

The link does show 1080 over dvi as well, no idea when it will be out though, don't think it'll be too long but it'll be worth waiting to see more reviews first etc.

I think it'll use the same panel as it seems like more of a software/bug fix, on my A03 I haven't noticed any banding

The slight banding issue was fixed in the A03 revision so hasn't been around for a while.
We ordered a couple of 2407's at the end of last week and we've spoken to our Dell account manager about the chances of them being A04.
We were initially told it would unfortunately be pot-luck as the warehouses are designed to have stock rotated and as stuff is sold the first item is grabbed.
She cannot even confirm that there are any A04's in the UK as of yet.

Unfortunately we cannot wait and by the end of play today we'll be having ours shipped out - be they A03 or A04, we're waiting to hear back from our account manager a little later.
I'm guessing we're going to still be seeing A03's here at the moment.

The rumour is the A04 2407 will STILL not do 1:1 mapping via DVI and also will not support 1080p, only 1080i. There is some dispute as to if those pics are indeed correctly showing 1080p via DVI over at the rage3d forums.

Until we see these screens showing up I guess the truth will not be out.

over component it can only do 1080i but in dvi/vga the 103 revision can obviously handle 1920x1200 so 1080p is just stretched to fit, if the a04 can do 1:1 mapping though like in the pics, it'll be sweet

I don't think it can accept a true 1080p signal, it can do the resolution but doesnt work with the signal or sth.

those cheap ass mother *****s. I brought the dell 2407wfp because I was told it would do 1080i through dvi.

I knew it wouldnt do 1080p.

Dell are replacing my monitor as we speak, new one will be here on monday.

Bit embarrasing really. They asked me how long I had used it and I say around 10hrs. Looked at the timer and it said 2000hrs.....

crap!

It seems a lot of people who ordered a 2407 recently have been getting an A04 panel - which has mixed reports about doing 1080. Hopefully you'll get one and can test it :)

That's from 14th June last year. the first revision wasn't even in any great supply then. The newer revisions will have changed that, I'm sure, hence why all the threads on many boards across the net.

No swearing!

Got my monitor. It is a.................rev a03.No swearing!.

Made Jan 07.

I was really hoping for a a04.

No dead pixels. Gonna have to find a fault with it ;) any ideas?

Maybe I should punch the screen a bit to get a bit of black and say it was damaged.

Maybe some water should fall inside it.
