Firstly this is to do with another thread i have in the sound section regarding connecting my PC to my dvd home cinema system so apologies for cross posting but i need an answer kinda quick as i'm about to go out and will probably pick up this cable at the same time.
I have an Line in/Optical Out connection on my Mobo which looks the same as the other sockets for speakers which are Jack connections. The connection on the back of the dvd/home cinema system is a Digital Optical In. Argos have a 2M Hitachi Optical cable which is supplied with a Mini Jack Connector for use with MD players. I need to know if this Mini Jack connector will fit and be compatible with the socket on my mobo, the socket is exactly the same as the one the jack from my normal pc speakers is plugged into.
