Is there a free LMS out there?

Looking to author online training packages and allow access (secure) to these for a group of individuals. Is there such a thing as a free LMS which is fairly easy to use to achieve this?

Something standalone would be good, but not essential.

Moodle? I implemented a few sites with this and they work great.
