Is there a known problem with dawn of war 2?

Everytime I play it my comp freezes and I have to restart it.Yet I can play red alert 3 with no problems.Is it a game problem or will it be my comp?
I'm running windows 7 64 bit(it was vista but it still did it with that)

Just got a ati 4870
core2quad q660
4 gig corsair ram
850w psu

that's interesting. I've not played it on w7 but on vista 32 bit it seems to work prerfectly fine, my spec is reasonably similar to yours. have you tried the ol' google? maybe that'd throw up a few results?

have you got the latest ati drivers, seeing as you bought your 4870 recently?

I read about a patch that sorts freezing but as it uses steam I assumed steam would have installed it automatically :confused:

steam is set up as default to downlad and install patches automatically, but maybe for some reason it's been deselected? have you made sure that it's still on?

I've installed the correct drivers for it now.Just waiting for the game install again.Will see what happens when it does.

How do you check to see if it's set to install automatically?

It will have installed it if you went through steam. Have you checked the tech support section of the official DoW2 forums?

Seriously though, your problem (as above poster suggested) is probably best dealt with by posting directly on the DoW2 Technical Support Forum it's pretty active so you should get an response quickly.
