Is there a limit on how many times you can use activation key ? Windows 8.1 pro

Hello
Just what the title says.
Im asking because my windows activation key got blocked when I recently done a format, I've done about 8 formats in under 1 year, and ive done one recently as I got a SSD and decided to do a clear install of windows and my key got blocked.

The key was purchased on eBay, it was working 100% fine until now ( don't know if it was a proper legit key but it seemed fine )

The error that im receiving is : Error code: 0xC004C003

Here's an answer from a Microsoft support engineer over on their forums:

This error code 0xC004C003 means that the product key you entered has already been used on another PC, and you might need to buy a new key. If you bought a PC with Windows preinstalled, contact the PC manufacturer or retailer to get the original Windows installation DVD and product key.

You will have to reactivate Windows by telephone and explain your situation:

1. Press Windows key + X then click Run, then type: slui.exe 4
2. Next press the 'ENTER' key
3. Select your 'Country' from the list.
4. Choose the 'Phone Activation' option.
5. Stay on the phone (do not select/press any options) and wait for a person to help you with activation.
6. Explain your problem clearly to the support person.

No real limit, just need to phone activate after the first few times.
More likely to happened is the eBay was selling dodge keys that have now been blocked, or selling same key to several people.

Phone Ms up and go through to a human and see what they say.

Well the MSDN key isn't the issue, it's more likely the fact that the seller has resold the key multiple times, and the activation server has suddenly seen multiple devices with the same key.

I can see how it's easily done, i think i get 20 W8 and 20 W8.1 keys with my account, If he's selling them for £50 each multiple times, that's a fair bit of money he's making.

Can you see if the seller is still active on ebay?
