is there a noticable difrence

The 6200 seems to have a higher baseclock.

If you're planning on overclocking anyway, there won't be a difference between both.

From the AMD website it looks like the only difference is the higher base clock on the 6200 pushing the TDP upto 125W. Otherwise they appear to be identical, especially if you're going to be overclocking.

One's Piledriver and one's Bulldozer.
The Piledriver does more per clock than the Bulldozer.
The Bulldozer is the FX62 and the Piledriver FX63.

Probably not a vast amount between them.

I'd go with the FX6300 if you can, the piledriver chips are faster per clock and use less power, something like 10-15% faster per clock in fact.

It's more like upto 10% per clock tbh, probably averages around 8 or something daft.

a lot of the stock performance gains came from the 400MHZ (Over 10% from the FX8150)

I'd definitely take the PD over the BD though.

Do you have an AM£+ motherboard? As the Athlon is AM3. So the 6300 will not be compatible with your current board.

EDIT: AM3+, not FM2, getting sockets mixed up :p.

The 990FX Sabertooth supports the FX-6300, but you need the latest BIOS. Make sure you flash to 1604 before swapping the CPUs over.
