G/f is looking to get a new printer which can:

is is possible for you to please put a post on the forum to see if any one would recommend a good printer that gives water proof prints from light rain mainly

how much base unit and refills.. good colour and all that .. and can write on with a permenant pen kinda think

Any ideas ?

I know the epson cx5400 and epsom R1800 produce waterproof pictures with genuine inks.

Perhaps contact them to see which other ones in the range do.

EDIT: Just found this "waterfast, pigment-based DuraBrite Ink technology. What does this mean?, well you could dunk a plain-paper printout in a bowl of water, and 2 hours later it would be virtually unchanged. The colours would not run at all!"

So any Epson printer which uses Durabrite Ink will fit the bill. Downside is needing genuine cartridges all the time so ink costs will be high.

Colour laser printer.
I would suggest the HP 1215/1515 because toner refills are simple and cheap (~£20/colour).
With a little research she could find some other (cheaper) colour laser printer that has easy and cheap refills.
