Hi there, I'm a bodybuilder and a pesceterian and for the past 5 weeks asda has stopped selling my sardines, and now today I've tried two other supermarkets that I have been getting them from for past 5 weeks and they've stopped selling them too including morrisons and NETTO's.

The ones I tried today said they've been discontinued but couldnt tell me anything more.

I been depending on these sardines too because I dont eat meat so all my protein comes from egg whites and fish.

And the thing is, these were healthy and fit into my weekly budget because one tin of sardines is 22g of protein and cost only 30 pence...so therefore I was buying 28 tins a week and eating 4 a day.

They were so cheap, and they were perfect for me.

Anyone else noticed supermarkets have stopped selling them, and have anymore information as to why?

...All I can think is maybe we've fished them all out of the sea and run them to the brink of extinction.:eek::(:rolleyes:

Is it the John West Sardine in tomato sauce? The Asda near me didn't have any and now they have? A member of staff said there was a dispute with the fisheries or something like that?

I do eat those ones sometimes, the asda's brand ones are rubbish, dont taste as good, but it was actually a different one, cant remember the brand name now.

The cheap asda ones were 32p the ones I liked were 41p but recently I been getting them from netto's for 30p....those john west ones are like 78p-84p.

I'd get any brand though right now, I'm doing really well with my diet and everything is going good, didnt really want to change anything...if I cant find any at aldi tomorrow am going to have to just buy more eggs or something...already going through 210 a week.
