I've got some questions regarding higher vs foundation tier GCSE maths.
I'd love to fire across a quick PM with some questions if possible.
Basically, a friends kid is resitting maths for the 3rd time this November after getting a grade 3 in the last two papers. He's desperate to get a 4.
He struggles with concentration after about 60 minutes. His maths is sound and he should be getting a 4.
His mum has asked if he would be better off using those 60 minutes getting the G3/4/5 questions nailed on higher tier rather than starting to fade on the foundation papers.
The grade boundaries are very different - approx 25% for a grade 4 at higher, but 75% needed for a grade 4 at foundation tier.
