Is there a TV card that does not require an ariel

The USB tv adapter I bought from overclockers was around £20 at the time, it came with a small aerial about the size of 2 credit cards placed next to each other, it was meant for laptops outside and stuff I guess but good luck getting any reception with it :)

I used the aerial on my roof obviously :) In short though the answer is no and the day will never come because we will have moved on to internet tv anyway >.<

At the moment I dont think there is a card which does not need an external ariel.
But you can get cards that will use either a freeview or freesat, so if you have a dish you could use that?
Or Ashampoo do a piece of software that lets you watch something like 2000 free channels from around the world across the internet!

I bet when the the first mobile phone came out that looked like a world war 2 walkie talkie if people said one day you will be able to fit that in your pocket everyone would have laughed!
And I am not talking about buying trousers with bigger pockets!

Why is everyone having a pop at him?
Silly question maybe, but if everyone who asks a silly gets popped at, it will put new enthusiasts off for fear of being made a laughing stock.
We're meant to help each other, not have a pop.

Sure, no TV card needs you to plug in an aerial. Simply install, switch on PC and there you have it. Only problem is, you won't be able to tune into anything.

To get reception on a TV card is just like a regular TV - you need satellite, cable, aerial, BT vision or whatever to get a signal for it to process into a picture.

If you meant can a TV run off cable or BT or similar then the answer is yes, it can. If you meant can it run without an external sgnal connection then no it cannot. There are some internet TV channels - recently Sky & microsoft tied up so you can watch sky on windows media center (on win7 at least) - but you need a subscription and internet for that not a TV card.
