Is there a way of knowing when your computer was assembled/first used?

ATT, I'm on an office HP here. Would there be something somewhere on C:/ that tells me when it was build or first used etc?

just check when the first update was installed in add/remove, or a patch log file in c:/Windows

If it's never been reformatted and windows installed again you might be able to find out the date of the last installation. I'm on Vista atm, but on XP I think it was under computer properties.

'Created' timestamp of c:\windows should do it.

I wonder if this info is want is send to microsoft..for how they know when you change the motherboard went using OEM vista...

As i notice it lists
