Is there a way to block adverts in Steams browser?

Whenever I google something game related Gamefaqs seems to be the most common source of info. The problem is 9 times out of 10 i'll click the link and within seconds a full page ad will block the entire screen with no way to close it . Maybe I am just being dumb, but I couldn't see an X anywhere to close the ad.

Its also annoying on Youtube video guides etc when theres a 2 minute unskippable ad then every time you click the next part theres another ad.

I guess I could just alt tab out of the game, but I find the game can sometimes crash when doing this. Had it happen a couple of times so far on Dark Souls.

The Mario ad? Yeah no there's no way to get rid of that, GameFACKs was always bad but it's gone full internet bloatware mode lately.

Yeah that's the one, so annoying. I don't know what triggers it as sometimes it doesn't appear. I even watched the trailer thinking that might get rid of it but no such luck.

It wouldn't be so bad if everything game related i wanted an answer to wasn't on Gamefaqs.
