My brother just bought an acer aspire one.. http://www.acer.com/aspireone/

Apparently it doesnt have a dvd drive and comes with linux on it. He wants to install either xp or vista, is there a way? will it support it? he has a 16gig usb pen if thats any help.

Oh and hes too tight to buy and external dvd drive, lol.

i reccommend you don't put Vista on it. the Aspire One's little wee CPU can't handle Vista's shambling code monster.

Seems to run fine on an NC10 with 2GB RAM upgrade - which has a 1.6Ghz Atom processor in... even Media Centre with a USB DVB dongle is smooth. It does have a HDD instead of an SSD - dont know what you have in your model though.
