I'm about to send my phone off for insurance however I have photos which contain sensitive information for work on it and I know you can recover these as I've had to do that in the past. Is there a way I can make it so you can't recover any information from the phone?

Thanks

Is it a work phone? Its their issue
If its a personal phone then it shouldn't be holding sensitive work info.

Sadly it's a personal phone it's the one I have on me all the time and when I've needed to take pictures of stuff in our data center etc I've always had my personal phone.

iPhone data is encrypted with AES-256. The key for this encryption is removed when you use the standard reset option in the settings, so the data is un-readable even if it still exists.

Thanks mate

You didn't answer the OPs question and your comment was completely irrelevant... what was your point exactly?

Sorry OP, not something I've ever needed to do, but you've raised awareness to something I hadn't considered before.

Yea' reading the post by @Craig321 it seems the reason I was able to recover data before was because I deleted it rather than erase/wipe my phone but upon using the in built erase all settings it gets rid of the encryption keys to unlock so there is no way your data can be recovered.

@vanandjuanunited lesson learnt will use work phone in future.

Did you recover data from an iPhone without a keycode/passphrase?

Model of iPhone?
Version of iOS?

Hi mate, it was the iPhone 4 but I hadn't done a wipe or anything I might have not been clear or mistyped what I mean... basically I was able to recover photos and texts that were over a year old but the phone hadn't been wiped and I did have the codes.
