hey all,

I'm intrested to know weather there is anything out there that can tell me what my BT line lengh is and what the maxium internet connection speed would be.

I've looked on google but only found stuff that will tell me what my current speed is. not the maxium speed that my line could handle.

any ideas?

That should tell you the distance from you to the exchange 'as the crow flies'.

yeah i've seen that and I allready know the lengh 'as the crow flys' but a guy i met told me that there was a BT engineer number you could call and by entering a few options in you can assatain the 'true' length of the line.

Also, when you set up a connection with a ISP they can check your line and can tell you what the maxuim speed that you can get is.

does anyone know how this is done? is there a website that can tell you??

The reason i ask is I'm think of switching providers.

cheers guys.
