......make it so WMP starts with the last album I was playing. Many a time I have been listening to an album but had to go out, closed down pc and when I return want to continue listening to the same previous album but have to search for it again.

I have a option under "File" then "Recent file list", its greyed out for me but that might be because I have history in options turned off?
 
You may have it hidden if wmp is in skin mode?

I believe you right click on an empty area at the top and select "file" if the menu isnt there.
 
This is why I like Winamp - it automatically remembers what you were last playing. So when you have to reboot etc., you just click the play button again. Really handy when you've selected particular tracks from loads of albums :)
 
WMP doesn't do that? That's quite poor really, all other major media players do...

Thanks, have finally found it lol. It has the 'recently played' part as you say greyed out. It looks like it just is'nt possible.
