Soldato
Ive knocked up another rig to use as a media center (W7 64bit).
This includes a fast enough CPU, 4GB RAM, 8800GTX, S350 Freesat card.
The Freesat card worked great in my main rig with a 470GTX.
Although, with the 8800GTX, BBC1 HD, ITVHD & BBC HD suffer from severe pixalation/corruption.
Ive found out this is because broadcasters have recently lowered their bitstream which is causing problems with all cards without a VDPAU feature-set, this includes ALL ATI cards so surely someone has found a fix?
The 8800GTX missed the boat as the later 8800GTS 512 was gifted with more capable CUDA.
An old HD WTV recording made months ago plays fine, which further incriminates the broadcasters for recently altering the bitstream.
Playing H.264 is great, using CoreAVC (software) or PowerDVD codecs throuhgh haali, although the standard M$ codec must be used with LiveTV.
