Just wondered if anyone knows of an all in one solution which is actually any good? If not I can make do with splitting the functions between 2 devices.

ATM im using a Cisco SOHO 97 modem/router/firewall and a linksys 54g to take care of the wireless. Lately im getting a problem while gaming online. Seems the Cisco is having problems with packets and I have to reboot it regularly. I would try upgrading the firmware, but apparently you have to subscribe with Cisco at a cost more than I paid for the modem

I would rather have an all in one solution, so if anyone can recommend that would be great. If there isnt a decent one available can someone recomend an ADSL modem/router/firewall, got 3 PCs behind it and would rather have the hardware firewall than run software firewall on all 3 clients.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

My belkin has all four capabilities, probably a bit cheap for what you want though.

(Only do basic on-line gaming here, no CoD or anything like that)

I have a Linksys WAG354G thats got everythign in it.

I run my LAN off it, whcih is normally only 8 PCs but I have run 14 PCs all off it with absolutely no problems what-so-ever. Its done me fine for... Well, I think its coming to about the 3 year mark actually???

My main PC is next to the Linksys, with a single ethernet cable going through to the LAN room, and on to an 8 port switch... To this switch I currently have a DLINK DI-514 Router and a DLink HUB ( To give more connections.

Now, both the DLINKS are NOT needed. I was using a 16 Port switch until a few weeks ago but it kind of died on me so Im doing a half-arsed repair job wit ha number of older bits to try to get as much PCs up and running cos the kids have had their friends over for a massive Thrash fest as UT.

But as to the router/Modem/Switch/Firewall, the WAG354 has beena fantastic bit of kit.

Oh yeah, and while Im here, I can safely say that I can play with 4 mates at UT2004 online, while my 3 kids play UT classic against each other, and the missus can do her argos shopping etc and it never missed a beat.

Cant go wrong with that can you?
